Rancho Hidalgo Equestrian Estates & Vineyard In Hidalgo County Near the towns of Animas & Rodeo, New Mexico and Portal, Arizona Areas

On a beautiful sunny winter morning in Portal, Arizona, I sat in on an interview with the project developer/manager of Rancho Hidalgo Estates, a newly Proposed Planned Equestrian Estates Project and with Realtor and team member of the DeWitt Group & associates in Portal, Arizona, Kim DeWitt is affiliated with Tierra Antigua Realty.

As the interview began, we were informed excitedly by the project manager/developer, that this latest proposed planned project was going to be a beautiful dream come true for the Equestrian lovers and wine aficionado's from all around the country. Rancho Hidalgo Estates & Vineyards near the sleepy little desert towns of Animas and Rodeo, New Mexico.

Rancho Hidalgo: An Historic Area

Steeped in rich history, the Animas Valley is quickly unraveling into a developers dream come true. Nestled amongst the foot hills of the Peloncillo Mountains with the Chiricahua Mountains to the west, the proposed Rancho Hidalgo Estates the manager expressed, is going to be the first of its kind in this area. There's nothing like Rancho Hidalgo Estates any where in this part of the country.

Hidalgo County and Cochise County was at one time the Southwest's infamous territories where the likes of Johnny Ringo, Black Jack Ketchum, Sandy King, Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Newton Clayton and family of the Skeleton Canyon homestead and the Apache tribes with their infamous chief Geronimo and Cochise.

Rancho Hidalgo, he exclaimed, will be comprised of a pretty big area, actually 1,300 acres of deeded ranch land and a 640-acre state farm lease with exceptional water rights, including three geothermal agricultural wells on the ranch, which produce an annual capacity of 640 million gallons of water. The project manager also mentioned that this property adjoins an additional 4,100 acres of the Bureau of Land Management “BLM” with additional grazing rights for up to 100 head of range fed cattle. It's quite an undertaking, but with his energy and tenacity and the great team of consultants behind him, its going well, already at this phase.

Vineyard: The Brightest Stars in The

Night Skies Of New Mexico!

The developer went on to share that Rancho Hidalgo Estates already has an infrastructure on the property which has electricity and telephone on the site. He also shared that there are three existing ranch houses and a barn with several horse stalls, stables, corrals and a few outbuildings from the existing ranch's infrastructure. I have driven by the area many times and it is a magnificent place with endless views of the brightest stars in the night sky.

The project manager said there are plans for approximately 300 homes on the equestrian estates. He went onto share that New Mexico’s newest proposed vineyard in Hidalgo County will be called "Canto Diablo Vineyards" and it will be a totally organic vineyard. We all smiled with enthusiasm. By this time, I was as well getting excited. He is quite the salesman! With magical views of the cosmic night sky and the amazing brightness from the stars above, this will be a place soon to call home.

The Location: Rancho Hidalgo Estates

From the metropolis of Tucson, Arizona, it's roughly a 2.5 hour drive to the little desert towns of Animas and Rodeo, New Mexico and within minutes of Portal, Arizona. And within 1hr 49mins, from the lovely artisan town of Silver City, New Mexico with some of the friendliest people in America. No kidding! The proposed Rancho Hildalgo Estates is two hours from El Paso, Texas. Rancho Hidalgo is situated in one of the most scenic byways in Southern New Mexico's last frontier, just off the beaten path in Hidalgo County.

Rancho Hidalgo Equestrian Estates

Another cup of coffee and project manager's story continued. With his excited exuberance about Rancho Hidalgo and its Equestrian Estates facilities, he stated that it was going to be developed as the inaugural John Lyons Signature Equestrian Community and that there would be input from other professional equestrian consultants as well. Eugene mentioned that, Michael Donovan, President of Equestrian Services, had just recently visited the project site days before our interview and Michael Donovan had predicted to him that Rancho Hidalgo Estates would become the premier equestrian destination in the west.

Rancho Hidalgo Estates & Vineyard

I was getting excited now as well. In this region of isolated rural country living, I welcomed the news that the project developer was sharing with us. It was not difficult to envision the story being told of such a proposed project as Phase I of Canto Diablo Vineyards. The initial start, he said, would be the planting of 20 acres, that would represent five different varieties of organic grapes, and would be in a partnership with their highly acclaimed and international award winning vintner. With a secretive smile that lit up across his face as his deep blue eyes shined with excitement, I could feel that must be the real thing when it comes to wine vineyards. The proposed Canto Diablo Vineyards will allow for participation in the vineyard by land owners at Rancho Hidalgo through the offering of Limited Partnership shares, taking advantage of an enormous profit potential and tax credit as well as depreciation deductions generated by agricultural operations. The average vineyard in New Mexico produces 3,200 750 ml bottles of wine per acre planted. We wil, he exclaimed, plant a total of 60 acres over the next three years. Wine production will reach 70% capacity within three years of planting.

Portal Arizona Sky Village Near The

Planned Rancho Hidalgo Equestrian

Estates & Vineyards Near Rodeo, NM.

The Project Manager is gambling on the success of his association with Arizona Sky Village located within minutes due west of the planned Rancho Hidalgo Equestrian Estates & Vineyard project. I live in Portal, Arizona and can say that this newly planned Rancho Hidalgo is an ideal environment for equestrian lovers and astronomers alike to come and really experience the darkest night skies and at the same time experience the Chiricahua Wilderness and Peloncillo Mountain outback in a quiet peaceful setting of New Mexico's land of enchantment!

Rancho Hidalgo Investment

Opportunities in Hidalgo County

The Project Manager expressed in detail that Phase I will be starting soon and the initial investment of the early investors is a minimum investment of $50,000 for a 10 acre parcel that comes with electricity and water to the site with pond frontage. The price per acre is at $5,000 with a guaranteed rate of return 100% in 24 months.

He stated that once the 10-acre parcels are all incorporated into the Platt, which he expressed would take approximately six to 12 months. He said initial investors may split their 10 acres into two, five acre parcels. They would then be available for resale at a minimum of $10,000 per acre, with a preferred sales scheduling by the Developer himself.

He also expressed the $10,000 per acre, is the Developer's guaranteed resale price, with an optional "Buyback" provision in 24 months from the Developer. He described that the initial investors can expect to double his or her money in a two year period. He went on to say that given the sales comparison at their nearby Arizona Sky Village community, a successful project in nearby town of Portal, Arizona, in Cochise County, that he expects resale prices of the property in one year to be $15,000 per acre.
